Volt is getting so tall that he actually jumps out of the Navara on his own, although I still lift him into the car, and I won't be able to do that much longer...
As he does every week he had an absolute ball playing with his brother and sister- Viking and Vegas- during the off-lead play session that puppy class always starts with, and their grandad Chaka and seeing-eye dog O'Riley (both retrievers) also visited with us a little today.
Then the pups were put on-lead and we had a sit-down-and-chat session about how the pups are doing, and during this session the pups have to sit calmly and on-lead next to their puppy raiser. This is important so that the pups learn that on-lead means its time to work. We discussed how to address possible issues arising from new situations like walking and visiting shopping malls, and how important it is to clean up after our pups if they mess anywhere! It is SAGA's reputation on the line after all.
We chatted about Volt's scratching as well, and we came to the conclusion that he may have developed a "thing" about scratching because he didn't scratch once at puppy class. He's been treated for fleas and he has no rash! Dogs can develop issues like this- for example, like a child sniffing for no reason- and we're going to have to work on stopping him doing it.
We also worked on some walking exercises today- up and down stairs, left and right turns, stopping and starting again, and return to heel.
Our PDS is very happy with Vegas and Volt's progress and that makes me very happy! *claps hands*
I am very much looking forward to going to my first graduation this Sunday, where Volt may get to meet his sponsors! And apparently there is a Fun Day coming soon and its a "must see"!
And now, for your viewing pleasure, some photos from today's class.
