He is now eating 140g of puppy food 3 times a day, with 3 salmon oil capsules a day- 2 with breakfast and 1 with supper. He is also sitting and waiting till he's told he can eat with no physical restraint from us at all. I think he's also eating a little slower as well as he went through a brief phase of throwing up his food an hour or so after he'd eaten because he was wolfing it down so fast!
This weekend I have spent most of my time in bed with bronchitis, and Volt has spent most of the day in the bedroom with me! He is so well behaved, sleeping at various spots around the room when he gets hot or uncomfortable, and not even trying to get up onto the bed. Come to think of it, I haven't had to chase him off the furniture once in the last week!

He has taken to digging in the garden though- mostly because I am now leaving him outside unsupervised for an hour or more at a time. He knows he's done something he shouldn't though, if I walk outside to see where he is and I catch him digging he immediately gets a very sheepish look on his face and steps out of the flower bed.
I am also leaving him at home with Thelma and Louise in the day if I need to go somewhere because he has to learn that its okay for him not to be with his people all day every day. He is coping quite fine with it and there's no yelping or barking when I leave or arrive back. I have also left him in his crate for short periods when I go out and he's quite fine with that too.
Our walks are going very well, with and without his jacket. We haven't been out of the complex again because I haven't been well, but he loves his stroll.
He's a little unhappy in the car still, and he got nauseous once this week, but he is much happier about getting into the car than he was.

We haven't had an "accident" in the house in weeks now so I think we can say the house-training is done and dusted. I think he may also be starting to do a piddle on command when told "busy busy" but I am not 100% sure of that. Good LAWD can he FART! Hells bells! They are these horrible lingering monster farts that have us wondering if he hasn't left us a smelly present somewhere nearby!
Anyhoodle. I bought him a new chew toy this week as he is literally chewing his toys to bits and he needs something to chew on, so I spent a bit more money on a bright yellow Cyberbone! I don't think its quite as strong as the Kong range, but it is certainly lasting longer than the Marltons chew toys he has had.
He is still scratching something terrible, and I can't think why! He scratches on his ribcage, not his face, neck or ears and I can't see any rash or spots. He has the salmon oil to help keep his skin healthy, he had a bath when I found a couple of fleas on him, and then yesterday I used a spot-on tick and flea treatment as well since its longer lasting than the bath - and he's still scratching.
What I am excited about is that I have many friends with small children, and several of them have asked their children's schools if Volt and I may go and visit! I have yet to make appointments with the schools but I am very pleased to be able to add these experiences to Volt's training regime! I'll let you know how it goes when we get there!
I have also started posting the occasional "did you know" on Twitter to give my followers- and people interested in the puppy raising programme- a little more insight into what the training entails. This past week there were two:

Oh he is cute and you are both doing so well. I hope you feel much better.
He really is growing up fast! The salmon oil capsules, do you buy those over the counter or from a vet? My Jack Russell has a horribly sensitive skin and I'd like to give them a try.

Gill: the salmon oil Volt is taking is the same as you would buy for a human, so over-the-counter is fine. YHou can check with your vet, but for a Jack Russell I wouldn't give more than 2 capsules a day 'coz he's small. You start with 1 and see how his tummy is after a few days, if its okay then try 2 (one in the morning and one at night). It doesn't take away the itch but it does improve skin condition a bit to ease the itch.
